Class - Bike Computers and Ride with GPS routes

Class topic: Do you have a bicycle computer from Garmin or Wahoo? Do you want to know how to import Ride with GPS routes into your bike computer? We'll show you how. This class will focus more on on Garmin and will show more later about Wahoo.

Instructors: Ride Leader Chris Farrell will teach how to import RWGPS routes into your Garmin bicycle computer.   TBD will teach using Wahoo computers.

Please complete these steps for the course:

1. Bring your bicycle computer fully charged.
2. Install the RidewithGPS app on your phone from your app store and log into it. The icon is black with an orange bicycle in it.
3. Bring your RWGPS login and password.
4. Install the Garmin Connect app on your phone if you use a Garmin computer. Login to the app and also bring your Garmin Connect login and password with you. The app is blue and black with a blue C in it. Synch your computer to the app if you can.
5. Install Wahoo app on your phone if you use a Wahoo computer.
6. Bring your ABC website login and password.
7. Install the Wild Apricot Member App on your phone and log into it. The icon us white with an orange design in it. This app uses the same login and password as the ABC website.
8. Bring your Strava login and password if you record events in Strava.
9. Load the Strava app on your phone and log into it. The app is orange with a white A and V in it.

Where: We will meet in the computer lab upstairs at the Odenton Public Library branch. Each seat has its own PC and there is a large classroom display. Proceed upstairs and get a login and password for the library desktop PCs from the staff desk or bring your library card, if you have one.

1) A little about how to use the ABC Ride with GPS club account and the route library. Instructor - RJ Marquette

     Prerequisite - follow the instructions here to access the club account                 and bring your RWGPS login and password to the class. 

2) How to submit a ride request using the Request-a-Ride intake tool that has become popular. See this page on our website. Instructor - Chris Farrell

3) We'll briefly demonstrate how we create a calendar event on the website so everyone knows how the process works. Instructor - John Tyrrell

ABC will furnish snacks and drinks.
