Steve Graham is the POC for us to ride the route of the Firefighter 50 at 15-16 mph.

Start time: 9:00 am. No-drop.

This is a beautiful ride in the area between Thurmont MD and Gettysburg PA. The ride starts at Loys Station Park, which has a restroom but limited parking. Carpooling is encouraged. At about the half way point the route climbs South Mtn, so the total elevation gain for the full ride is about 3,200 feet. There are opportunities for rest stops in Fairfield (22 miles), Blue Ridge Summit (30 miles) and Emmitsburg (41 miles). After the ride we will drive to Thurmont and have lunch at Bollinger's Restaurant and Micro-brewery, 210 N. Church St. This is a no-drop ride, but be prepared for a lot of climbing.

Steve says, "I am willing to arrange carpooling. Registrants can send me an e-mail if they are looking for someone to carpool with."

The formal Other Supported Ride event is held in the summer.
