  10:00 AM start at Generals Highway Corridor Park, on Crownsville Road, right across from the Renaissance Festival.   Please be ready to ride 5 minutes before the start time.

  There will typically be three different paces (ranging between 13-19+ mph), depending on who shows up. There are different routes ranging between 22 and 34 miles.

  There is an e-mail list for members that is used for these rides, maintained by Jim Miner  jnlminer1@gmail.com. Typically, a ride announcement is sent out the night before, allowing riders to respond positively that they are coming.  In good weather, this isn’t critical but when the weather is iffy, this allows last minute changes.  Let Jim know you would like to be added to the list or in good weather, just show up.

Online voting will open shortly after that deadline via an email notice. You do not have to attend the meeting to vote.

  Venue and meal - We will be in a private area. The meal is served individually and you'll order from the menu when you register. 

  Registration - Covers meal, tax, tip, etc. ABC is paying the balance of the bill. Pay via this calendar entry on the website www.annapolisbicycleclub.org or our smart phone app when you register.

  Cash bar for attendees to pay for all bar beverages.

  Cost is $39.99. There is no cancellation refund within 4 days of the event.

  Registration will close 4 days before the event.

  Menu - Entrees are accompanied by a house salad, starch, vegetable, warm rolls & butter, coffee, iced tea & lemonade. Birthday cake for dessert.

  Choose 1 entree per person when you register:

  1. Beef Tips Burgundy - Beef tips cooked in burgundy wine with peppers, mushrooms, & onions

  2. Brown Sugar Spice Salmon - Half pound Atlantic salmon seasoned with harissa spice & crusted brown sugar, & baked

  3. Teriyaki Chicken - Basted in homemade teriyaki Sauce, completed with a grilled pineapple ring

  4. Thai Vegetable Stir-Fry - Seasonal fresh vegetable sautéed in a mild curry cream sauce on top of a bed of rice

  • Registration will close when we meet the capacity limit 50 or the deadline of 4 days before the event. ABC reserves the right to limit registrations. 
  • We will have our jerseys and our polo shirts to try on and buy at the meeting.

  Lunch at Eastern Market

  
  

  We'll ride from the Maryland State House, 100 State Circle, Annapolis , MD 21401, to the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. and back.

  Parking: Calvert Street Parking Garage (19 St. Johns Street) - FREE on Sundays. 
  

  Meet at 7:50am at the Thurgood Marshall statue on the northern side of the State House (shown in first picture).

  Pace: All ride levels

  We'll ride along paved roads, trails and bike lanes. The route heads north in Crofton to get to the WB&A trail, over the new Patuxent River bridge, then continues down the WB&A trail and intersects with Rt 450. Then, we'll get on the East Coast Greenway and the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail (ART) taking us the rest of the way. Break for lunch in DC at Eastern Market.

  Join in the most popular ABC Ride of the year! The Annual St. Michael's / Oxford Rides

  This is a ride for all ABC members, all speeds and there will be multiple groups. Ride through Talbot County and take a trip across the Tred-Avon river on one of Maryland's three ferry crossings. All routes take a break at the Oxford Town Park for lunch / snacks.

  Wear your ABC jersey! We will take a club photo at the Oxford Town Park.  

  3 rides:

  1) Leave the starting area at 9:00 for a nice 40 mile ride at 14 MPH, no-drop, out towards Tilghman and then retrace back to St. Michael's and on to Oxford. Ride Leader is TBD.  this 40 route and cue sheet. 

  With a 9:00 AM departure we should arrive at the ferry station around 11 to 11:15 AM assuming 90 minutes cycling time and a rest stop at the porta-potties in Perry Cabin Park. 

  2) Start at 8:00 for a 60 mile route, that runs to the end of Tilghman island, back to St. Michael's and on to Oxford. This is the 60 mile route. Ride LEader is TBD. Expect about 15-16 mph average. will coordinate the start and plans to ride the route at a 16mph average. 

  3) Start at 7:00 for an 80 mile route, that heads down to Long Point, then Tilghman Island, then back to St. Michael's and on to Oxford. Ride Leader is Chris Higgins. Expect 17-18 MPH Average Speed. 

  Water/Refueling Stops: For the 60 an 80 mile routes...you may need a stop prior to reaching Oxford for more water.

  On Tilghman Island, there are two spots: Fairbank Tackle, south side of the drawbridge or Tilghman Island Country Store, south of the Drawbridge on the east side of the road.

  The next location available is back in St. Michael's...extra water in your car, or High's gas station on the west side as you are leaving town.

  Start times are 'designed' for the groups to meet up on the road on the way to Oxford.  

  Start location is at the St. Michael's Elementary School. Be ready to start at the start time of your route above. 

  Bring ~$6 cash for the ferry boat fee.

• Lifeline 100 Annual Rides - Rest Stop Volunteers (non ride)

  Dear Club Member, 

  With three weeks to go until the Lifeline 100 Bicycle Event we need ten additional volunteers, primarily at the BWI/Dixon rest stop.

  Please volunteer - this is a great way to give back to the cycling community, promote the club, and get to know your fellow club members!  

  We thank the club members who have already volunteered! 

  This year’s Lifeline 100 will take place on Sunday October 5, 2025! The Lifeline 100 showcases Anne Arundel County’s scenic trails and roadways, teaches cycling awareness, safety and its benefits, and has grown every year to draw hundreds of cyclists and supporters from around the Mid-Atlantic.

  The event raises funds to support local non-profits, including the Crisis Response System, Anne Arundel Food Bank, and BikeAAA. It is expected to draw 1,000 riders this year. ABC has been a major contributor to its success since the first Lifeline 100 in 2014.   

  ABC members staff the four major rest stops for the Lifeline century and metric routes. This is the primary opportunity for us to give back to the cycling community, supporting BikeAAA’s advocacy on behalf of cyclists, and to help promote our Club.

  We need about 35 volunteers to staff the four major rest stops and the Century Route water stops:

  o   Bay Ridge Swim Club - Joe Hawkins, Captain

  o   Crofton Park - LJ Reiter, Captain

  o   Dixon Observation Area (at BWI) - Tina McDermott, Captain

  o   Galesville Wharf waterfront park - RJ Marquette, Captain 

  o   Water Stops: We need a pair of volunteers to handle two water stops to support riders on the Century Route. The locations are on Rutland Road by the Route 50 overpass and at Davidsonville Park pavilion.

  o   Rest Stop Support: We need a volunteer to support the Crofton and BWI rest stops, this involves some driving and shopping for ice, water, and food items at grocery stores (expenses reimbursed).

  Please let us know if you're flexible to work at any rest stop, or whether you prefer to work at a particular rest stop. The event date is Sunday, October 5, 2025.
